All storytimes will be presented in Facebook Live. Please be aware that photographs and video may be taken at Library programs for use in print and/or electronic media at the Library’s discretion. For more information, please call 972-205-2516.
Programs and events geared to elementary school age children plus toddlers and babies.
Programs and events for junior high and high school age kids. Regular events include gaming parties.
Tween Scene (Ages 10-13) - Catapults
Tween will learn how to construct a mini catapult by wrapping popsicle sticks with rubber bands. Once the catapults have been constructed, the participants will then test their catapult’s throwing power by launching various objects of different shapes, sizes, and weights toward a bullseye placed one foot away. A premade chart to record your results is available to illustrate your catapults power.
Attendance at Garland Library programs or public spaces constitutes consent to be photographed and video recorded for use in print and/or electronic publicity for the Library, such as presentations, displays, newsletters, articles, library websites and other media. If you do not wish to be photographed or videotaped, please speak to the Library Staff member before the event.
