Overview
The Planning and Community Development Department serves as a point of contact for demographic information in the City of Garland. The U.S. Census Bureau is the official data source for most of the demographic information. Every ten years, the Census Bureau conducts a complete count of the population and collects sample data from households to gather socioeconomic and demographic characteristics of the population. For additional demographic information and resources, see the Demographics page.
Additionally, the Department is a resource for Mapping information. The City of Garland provides the public with access to mapping information through its online Geographic Information System (GIS) website.
